Caring for Our Kids this Mental Health Awareness Month |
This May, BMC psychiatrist Dr. Christine Crawford shares tips on how to talk to children about conflict and trauma. Dr. Crawford says that caregivers don’t have to be experts and shouldn’t be afraid to start a conversation with their children. Once the conversation gets started, caregivers can then help their children brainstorm ways to cope. |

After being diagnosed with kidney failure, Paulo Fidalgo says his Cape Verdean community and family helped him follow his care plan. After seven years of dialysis, Paulo’s kidney finally came. And he didn't just get a kidney — he also received an innovative therapy from BMC's Kidney Transplant Program that helped his new kidney to function properly. “BMC saved my life,” says Paulo, who will forever be grateful for the support he received during that difficult time. |

Yawkey Entrance Closed to Patients and Visitors |
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our campus and provide the best clinical care, BMC’s Yawkey building doors are now closed as an entrance. All patients and visitors on our main campus must now enter our hospital via Shapiro, Menino, or Moakley buildings, where they will be greeted by team members at a new centralized check-in desk before continuing to the hospital. We are excited to welcome you and appreciate your patience as we improve our facilities. Explore our campus redesign plans. |

My doctor is an incredible provider. I always feel safe, listened to, respected, and cared for. She goes above and beyond to ensure her patients have what they need. My mental health would not be where it is today without her care. |
