Leveraging Our Environmental Excellence to Elevate Healthcare Industry

We know that sustainability is healthcare which is why we invest in environmental initiatives that are critical to improving the health and wellbeing of our community. BMC Health System (BMCHS) is proud to partner with Omicelo to launch Oakwell, a new company that will partner with health systems to develop energy efficiency programs that reduce spend. That money saved can then be reinvested back into patient care.

“Environmental initiatives are not only a critical extension of our mission to improve the health of our communities, but they are an innovative approach to health system sustainability,” says Alastair Bell, BMCHS president and CEO.

Building for Tomorrow on BMC's Campus

When you come to Boston Medical Center beginning in early fall, you’ll notice some big changes on the campus! These changes are part of our Campus Redesign 2.0 project, which is transforming the look of our campus to match the exceptional care you’ve come to expect. At the end of this project next year, BMC will have a new, modern lobby with more seating, improved patient drop-off and valet areas, a redesigned handicapped parking lot, and better access from Mass Ave. To make these exciting improvements, we will be closing the Menino Building lobby entrance for approximately one year, beginning late summer. This is in addition to the ongoing closure of the Yawkey Building entrance. Our teams are here to guide you to your destinations through these changes. We appreciate your patience as we modernize our facilities. Explore our campus redesign plans.
