Researcher Spotlight

Headshot of Titi Ilori, MD, MSc

Name: Titilayo (Titi) Ilori, MD, MSc

Department: Kidney Medicine

Research Focus: I study how environmental factors interact with genes, like the APOL1 gene common in individuals of African descent, to lead to different health outcomes in kidney disease. I also use epidemiology and clinical research to understand what drives health disparities and how we can address them.

Why BMC:  I’ve always worked in settings where there are underserved populations, and learning about BMC’s mission to provide exceptional care without exception while focusing on health equity in research really resonated with me.

Favorite Movie: Frozen 2
