BMC Researchers Find Extended-Release Buprenorphine Promising to Support Breastfeeding Parents with Opioid Use Disorder |

A team led by Elisha Wachman, MD, neonatologist and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Pediatrics at BMC, found that buprenorphine and the chemical solvent that allows for sustained release are at undetectable levels in a small study of three breastfeeding parents and their babies.
